Bring Your Own File

At The Meeple Room, we are offering a Bring Your Own File (BYOF) service for customers who wish to have files printed that they have purchased from other sources. This service allows you to benefit from our high-quality printing capabilities for other models not in our routine offerings, and ensuring that your models are produced with the precision and care The Meeple Room is known for.

The rates for our printing services are listed below:

  • Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) prints using PLA or PETG Filaments are charged at a rate of $0.15 per gram of filament used.
    • Minimum $5: If the model's calculated cost is less than $5, the cost will be $5.
    • We currently offer up to 4 filament colors per print for pre-painted 3MF files and are working to add the ability to print in up to 8 color prints. If files are not pre-painted and a multi-color print is requested, there will be an extra $10 surcharge to paint the file for printing.
  • FDM prints using ABS or other specialty filaments are charged at a rate of $0.20 per gram of filament used.
    • Minimum $8: If the model's calculated cost is less than $8, the cost will be $8.
  • Resin pre-supported models are charged at a rate of $0.20 per milliliter of resin used.
    • Minimum $5: If the model's calculated cost is less than $5, the cost will be $5.
  • Resin unsupported models are charged at a rate of $0.30 per milliliter of resin used.
    • Minimum $8: If the model's calculated cost is less than $8, the cost will be $8.
    • Please note that all resin models are printed in Gray ABS-Like resin, or translucent resin where necessary.

How Do I Get A Quote For My Model?

To initiate the process, please fill out the contact form below and provide the basic information regarding the file you wish to have printed. Please include both your name and email address. Make sure to include the name of the model, the sculptor, and the anticipated type of print needed (FDM or Resin) for the file you wish to submit, and lastly, the color(s) of filament you wish us to use for FDM prints. Also, if you are submitting a functional print for FDM printing, please let us know the expected use of the print itself so we can determine the appropriate filament requirements.

Once the form is submitted, we will review the provided information and reach out to you via the provided email address to discuss the next steps, including a link where the file can be uploaded for determining the price of the printed model.

What cannot be submitted for printing?

Our Bring Your Own File process is pretty open to most items, but there are a few categories of items that we will not print.

  • Functional Weapons - We will not print functional weapons or parts for functional weapons. 3D printers leave a marking in all prints that can tie items back to specific printers and we do not wish to be involved in this category of prints to avoid any possible legal ramifications from misuse of this type of print.
  • Explicit or NSFW content - As we pride ourselves on being a family friendly shop and environment, we will not print content that is explicit or NSFW. Artistic nudity may be printed within reason, but sexualized models will be declined.
  • Models that are direct replicas of or that are indistinguishable from Games Workshop characters and models.
  • Models produced by Archvillain Games.
